Correspondence (1951-1952), telegrams (1952), photographs, and newspaper clippings (1951, 1967, 1970, 1988) documenting a Stillwater man's service in the Korean War and notification of his death in combat. b The correspondence includes letters from Palm to his parents describing his trip to Korea, via Japan, and his combat experience on the front at the "Iron Triangle" (July-Oct. 1951); letters written to Palm by his parents relating family and local news, which were returned after Palm's death (Sept.-Oct. 1951); and Army letters and telegrams related to the official notification of Palm's death (Oct. 9, 1951) and arrangements for the return of his remains and burial (Oct. 1951-May 1952).
